 PADI Scuba Diver Course 
 
 This course can be conducted over 3 days a great option for if you are heading up to the tropics on a holiday and need to get your dive ticket before you leave or if you are just short on time. A lot of people also choose this option if they are a bit unsure about doing there full Open Water Diver Course straight away.
Although this is a world recognized PADI certification it does have some limitations. As a certified PADI Scuba Diver, you have a maximum depth limit of 12 metres. You must also dive under the supervision of a PADI Divemaster or Instructor. When you think that in 95% of overseas destinations, you are usually led by a guide who is normally a certified PADI Divemaster anyway, and that most of the cool things to see are between 5 - 10 metres, these limitations aren't very restrictive after all.

  • Must Complete theory knowledge reviews (1 to 3) at home.
  • Watch modules 1 to 3 DVD at home.
  • Dive Medical not required*
  • Be 15 years old

PADI Open Water Learn To Dive In Just 3 Days

Purchase your PADI Online Elearning Acsses pass follow the links around our web site. 
During the purchase process select Aquatic Adventures Hallam as your dive center and your on your way.
You need to be comfortable in the water and have some basic swimming skills. The minimum age for scuba certification is 12 for the Junior Open Water Diver or Junior Scuba Diver certification (adult-supervised diving), and 15 for the Open Water Diver or Scuba Diver certification. Learning to dive is easy and lots of fun.
  
Prior to learning to dive in Melbourne you are required to obtain an approved Scuba Diving Medical Certificate. These medicals are available from selected practitioners, a list of which can be found on the SPUMS Website.
  
Course Details:
The Open Water Diver course is run over 3 days. For group sessions this is usually two consecutive weekends, although at certain holiday times we sometimes run 3 consecutive days. If you choose a personalized course we can run the 3 days in any schedule that suits you. Regardless of when the days are scheduled, they take the following format below. 
The cost of the Full PADI Open Water Course Is ONLY $499 Conditions apply. Person must have selected Aquatic Adventures Hallam when signing up and purchasing E-learning Online. If not  there is an additional fee of $60 to all Open Water course prices                                  
 
 
Day 1 - It's time to put on the scuba gear! Today you'll finish of a 20 question theory review , Then you'll head to the pool and be introduced to breathing underwater. You'll learn the skills that are necessary to keep you safe on your course ocean dives and during your own diving. 
Day 2- It's time to say g'day to those seahorses! You will do two dives today under Rye or Portsea Pier. It's a perfect training environment about 5m deep and has some spectacular life living around its pylons. 
Day 3 - Today you will do a Shore Dive ,So keep a look out for those  Weedy Sea Dragons. Then  a boat dive from Portsea. The sites is usually Portsea Hole or Pope's Eye, though may change depending on conditions. You'll go a little deeper today, which will prepare you for doing your own diving after the course. 
   
That's it! After 3 DAYS you will be certified to dive to 18m with a buddy, anywhere in the world! If you want to continue your training from here, it's time to go on to the PADI Advanced Open Water Course where you will be given an introduction to navigation, deep and other types of diving.
 
What will I need?
  • Your own personal items, that is Mask, Snorkel, Boots and Fins as well as bathers, towel, Log book and erdp

ADVENTURE DIVER COURSE
 
PADI Advanced Open Water

The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed to strengthen and reinforce the practical skills and knowledge of an Open Water Diver and can be completed directly after completion of the PADI Open Water diver course.
 
Pre-Requisite:  
PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent
  
Course Details:
The PADI Advanced Open Water course is conducted over one full weekend during which you will complete a total of five dives covering skills such as navigation, deep diving, boat diving, search and recovery, night diving, wreck diving, drift diving and buoyancy.
 
Day 1 - This is an evening where your instructor will go through the knowledge reviews you completed at home. You will also pick up your diving gear tonight.
Day 2 - Today you will do three shore dives from Rye. One of these will be a navigation dive, where you will learn more compass skills as well as natural navigation. You will also do a search and recovery dive, and a night dive. 
Day 3 - You will do two boat dives today from Portsea. One will be a Deep Dive, where you get to see what it's like when you go down to 30m. If the conditions are suitable you will also do a wreck dive to a submarine, otherwise a drift dive where you just relax as the current takes you along the dive site.

What do I need?
You will need to supply your own personal items, which is your mask, snorkel, boots and fins. You will also need to get yourself to the dive sites, and organise accommodation if you don't want to drive back to Melbourne.
